The strategies and general guidelines in this learning system are intended for use in any state with all healthcare or social services agencies. Information contained in this introductory healthcare workplace violence prevention program meets many of the compliance mandates set forth by federal and state regulatory agencies.

The AVADE® Healthcare Workplace Violence Prevention Training program for Healthcare meets the requirements of State and Federal guidelines and The Joint Commission regulatory compliance for maintaining a Workplace Violence Prevention Training Program.

This Web-based training system is tailored to healthcare agency specific needs. The AVADE® Healthcare workplace violence prevention e-learning system is designed to give staff an introduction to the risk, prevention and mitigation of violence in the healthcare environment. It is not intended to be an all-inclusive workplace violence prevention plan. Agencies must consider and implement the appropriate administrative, behavioral and environmental components in developing and implementing their workplace violence prevention plan. The AVADE® e-learning system is a targeted approach to the behavioral area of preventing workplace violence. A more intensive training session to include restraint training, hands-on exercises, role playing and scenarios may be needed for employees who work in affected areas of healthcare such as (but not limited to) the emergency department, security and behavioral health.
